Joint Technical Committee Meeting on Hajj Transport Contracts

The Joint Technical Committee convened today at the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance in the temporary capital, Aden. The meeting, led by Dr. Mukhtar Al-Rabash Al-Haythami, the Undersecretary for Hajj and Umrah, focused on opening bids from transportation companies for the upcoming Hajj season of 1446 AH.

Review of Submitted Bids

During the meeting, attendees, including Fares Shaafal, the head of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport, reviewed the proposals submitted by various companies. The committee evaluated each bid to ensure compliance with the required technical specifications for transporting pilgrims.

Next Steps in the Evaluation Process

The committee decided to forward the bids to a specialized technical committee for detailed analysis. This step is crucial for preparing a final report that will list the companies awarded the contracts.

In his remarks, Dr. Al-Rabash emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest levels of transparency throughout the evaluation process. He stressed the need to select companies that meet the specified technical criteria, ensuring comfortable and safe transportation services for the guests of Allah. This commitment reflects the ministry’s dedication to providing the best possible experience for pilgrims.

Attendees at the Meeting

The meeting included key figures from the ministry, such as Abdul Karim Al-Sheikh, General Director of Hajj and Umrah, Abdul Jabbar Al-Mazlum, General Director of Organization and Accounts, and Abdul Raqeeb Shujaa Al-Din, Director of Transport. Representatives from the authority included Majid Al-Maisari, General Director of Licensing, and Ziad Mahmoud, Director of Technical Affairs. Additionally, Basel Hazem, President of the Yemeni Tourism Federation, was present.

This meeting marks a significant step in ensuring that the logistics for the Hajj season are handled efficiently and effectively, prioritizing the needs of the pilgrims.
