Minister’s Meeting at OIC Council
Today, Dr. Shai’a Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, engaged in discussions with Malaysia’s Foreign Minister, Mohd Hassan, during the 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers. The two leaders explored ways to enhance bilateral relations across various sectors, aiming to serve mutual interests and strengthen the existing cooperation between Yemen and Malaysia.
Acknowledging Malaysia’s Support
Dr. Al-Zandani praised the Malaysian government’s positive role in supporting Yemen on regional and international platforms. He expressed deep gratitude for the assistance Malaysia provides to the Yemeni community residing in the country. This acknowledgment highlights the importance of Malaysia’s diplomatic efforts and its commitment to fostering a supportive environment for Yemenis abroad.
Congratulating Malaysia on ASEAN Success
In addition, Dr. Al-Zandani extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Malaysian government for its outstanding success in hosting the ASEAN Summit and the ASEAN meetings with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and China. This recognition underscores Malaysia’s growing influence and leadership in regional diplomacy.

In response, Foreign Minister Mohd Hassan reaffirmed Malaysia’s steadfast support for the Yemeni government. He emphasized Malaysia’s commitment to continue providing humanitarian aid and assistance to the Yemeni community. Furthermore, he expressed a strong desire to expand avenues for bilateral cooperation across various fields, reinforcing the partnership between the two nations.
