Minister Announces Start Date for Pilgrimage
Dr. Mohammed Shabeeb, Yemen’s Minister of Awqaf and Guidance and head of the Hajj Affairs Office, announced that the process of transporting Yemeni pilgrims for the current Hajj season 1446 AH will commence on Tuesday, May 13, 2023, corresponding to the 15th of Dhul-Qi’dah.
First Group Departure Details
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Minister Shabeeb confirmed that the first group of pilgrims will depart by air from Aden International Airport on Yemenia Airlines. Additionally, the ground transportation for pilgrims will begin on May 16, 2023, which corresponds to the 18th of Dhul-Qi’dah. The ministry has established a detailed schedule to ensure a smooth transition for all participants.
Health Regulations for Pilgrims
Regarding health protocols, Minister Shabeeb emphasized that pilgrims will receive necessary vaccinations at designated entry points. He urged all pilgrims to adhere to the health, administrative, and organizational guidelines set forth by both the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Compliance with these regulations will facilitate a smoother pilgrimage experience.
Appreciation for Saudi Support
The Minister also expressed gratitude to the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia for their support in facilitating the pilgrimage for Yemeni citizens. He specifically highlighted the additional lanes at the Al-Wadiah border crossing, which will expedite the processing of pilgrims.
This year’s Hajj season promises to be well-organized, ensuring that Yemeni pilgrims can fulfill their religious duties with ease and safety.
