On Monday, Abdulrahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, met with Mohammed Al-Tam, a representative from the Kuwait Direct Aid Association. They focused on the association’s interventions in various sectors, particularly water projects in Aden.
Governor Sheikh emphasized the local authority’s commitment to supporting and implementing sustainable projects. These initiatives aim to meet citizens’ needs and enhance essential services. He praised the generous support from Kuwait for the water sector and other vital areas in Aden.
During the meeting, Al-Tam presented the association’s ongoing projects. Notably, he highlighted the drilling of ten wells in the Bir Ahmed water field. He reported that the drilling operations have been completed at a total cost of $1.5 million. Each well can produce up to 30 liters per second, significantly boosting water supply and improving service stability in the city.
The discussion also covered plans to establish an electrical and water network to connect the wells to the main grid. This initiative aims to maximize the wells’ production capacity and ensure the sustainability of water services in Aden.
The collaboration between local authorities and the Kuwait Direct Aid Association marks a significant step towards enhancing water infrastructure in Aden. This partnership not only addresses immediate needs but also lays the groundwork for long-term improvements in essential services.
