In an exciting conclusion to the Third Division Football Championship in Shabwa, Governor Awad bin Al-Wazir awarded the Marakhah Youth Team the championship trophy. The team secured their title with a narrow victory over the October Youth Team from Nasab, winning the match 1-0. The decisive game took place at the Khalifi Stadium in the city of Ataq on the evening of the event.
Governor bin Al-Wazir presented the championship trophy to the Marakhah Youth Team along with a cash prize of two million riyals. The October Youth Team received the runner-up trophy and a cash prize of one million riyals. Additionally, the match officials were honored with a cash award of one million riyals each. The governor praised the significant turnout of sports fans and commended the tournament’s organizational efforts. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the youth sector in the province and promoting sports activities.
During the awards ceremony, which featured the attendance of Deputy Governors Dr. Abdulqawi Lamrouq and Salem Al-Nasi, the Director General of the Youth and Sports Office in the province, Mohsen Sinan, acknowledged the local authority’s continuous support for various sports initiatives. He emphasized the importance of local leadership in fostering a vibrant sporting culture in Shabwa.
The tournament, organized by the General Federation of Football in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Office, saw participation from 18 sports clubs representing all districts of the province. This event showcased the talents of young athletes and highlighted the growing enthusiasm for football in Shabwa.
