French authorities suspect that a train derailment in the northwest of the country, which resulted in 44 injuries, may have been caused by sabotage, according to a police source on Saturday.
The source indicated that police found a piece of railway track placed on the line, leading to the hypothesis of sabotage taking precedence in the initial investigations, as reported by Agence France-Presse.
The train was carrying 186 passengers and was traveling between the cities of Rouen and Caen in the Normandy region when it derailed at 7:45 PM on Friday.
