The Consultation and Reconciliation Authority confirmed its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government. It expressed backing for the decisions and actions taken by the National Defense Council to protect the country, restore state institutions, and enhance the readiness of the armed forces in the face of current threats.
In a statement following its meeting chaired by Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, attended by the Vice Presidents and representatives of political parties and components, the authority emphasized the importance of national unity. It called for the integration of political forces’ efforts and standing alongside state institutions and its armed forces in various formations. This support aims to bolster the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in addressing military and security developments.
The authority reiterated its complete solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in facing attacks targeting its security, sovereignty, citizens, and resources. It affirmed that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Yemen’s security and the region.
The authority held the Houthi terrorist militias fully responsible for the recent escalation and its consequences, which include:
It also confirmed that the militia serves Iranian agendas, transforming Yemeni lands and coasts into tools in regional battles that threaten the region’s security and international maritime routes.
The authority called on political forces, national elites, media, tribal leaders, and all segments of society to enhance national alignment. It urged the unification of efforts and energies to support the state and its armed forces, fortifying the internal front during this critical phase.
The authority pointed out that developments in the western coast and Bab al-Mandab confirm that the Houthi threat is no longer an internal Yemeni issue. It has become a direct threat to regional security, maritime navigation, energy supplies, and global trade. The authority called on the international community to move from statements of condemnation to a more effective stance in supporting the legitimate state and securing maritime passages.
The authority reaffirmed that just and sustainable peace remains a national goal. It stressed that peace cannot be achieved by rewarding force or allowing militias to impose facts on the ground. Instead, it requires ending the Houthi coup, restoring state institutions, and creating conditions for a fair and comprehensive political settlement.
