Dr. Ahmed Bin Dagher Offers Condolences for the Passing of Ahmed Qaid Barakat

Dr. Ahmed Bin Dagher, the Chairman of the Shura Council, expressed his heartfelt condolences to Bashar Ahmed Barakat and his family following the death of their father, the esteemed activist Ahmed Qaid Barakat. Barakat, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, passed away after a distinguished career dedicated to national service and significant achievements.

A Legacy of National Service

In his message, Dr. Bin Dagher praised Barakat’s admirable qualities and his honorable struggle for Yemen. He highlighted Barakat as one of the most prominent figures during a critical period in Yemen’s history. Throughout his career, Barakat demonstrated exceptional competence, integrity, and dedication to serving his country in various leadership roles.

Significant Contributions to Yemen

Dr. Bin Dagher noted that Yemen lost a towering figure with Barakat’s passing. Barakat held several key ministerial positions, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Information, and Minister of Economy and Industry. He represented Yemen with distinction on the international stage, serving as an ambassador to Germany and as a non-resident ambassador to Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Japan. His advocacy for Yemen’s interests made him a prominent national voice.

Additionally, Barakat served as the Chairman of the Board of Yemenia Airways, where he played a crucial role in advancing the aviation sector, aligning it with Yemen’s stature.

Offering Support to the Family

Dr. Bin Dagher extended his deepest sympathies to Barakat’s family, friends, and loved ones. He prayed for divine mercy for the deceased and asked for strength and patience for those mourning his loss. “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return,” he concluded.
