President Alimi Assesses Security Situation in Abyan Governorate

On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, reviewed the overall conditions in Abyan Governorate. This assessment follows recent actions taken by the local security committee, aligning with the government’s decisions to protect civilians and maintain public order.

Security and Service Readiness

During a phone call with Abyan Governor Abubakr Hussein, President Alimi received updates on the security and service conditions in the region. He inquired about the authorities’ preparedness to enhance security and stability, as well as the measures implemented to safeguard state institutions and public interests. The President emphasized the importance of deterring any potential threats.

Strengthening Security Measures

President Alimi directed the Presidential Leadership Council to take all necessary steps to bolster security and stability in Abyan. He stressed the need to secure state institutions and ensure the free movement of individuals and goods. Additionally, he urged authorities to prevent any disruptions to public safety or essential services.

Supporting Local Governance

The President reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting local authorities in fulfilling their constitutional and legal responsibilities. He called for coordination among all relevant government agencies to meet the citizens’ needs, especially during this critical phase that demands utmost responsibility and discipline.

Acknowledging Local Resilience

President Alimi praised the commendable role of Abyan’s residents in the fight against the Iranian-backed Houthi militias. He recognized their efforts to defend legitimate state institutions and the republican system at various stages. The President expressed confidence in their awareness and ability to protect their governorate, ensuring its security and stability while actively contributing to a promising future.

The President assured that Abyan will remain a priority for the state, including empowering its residents to manage local affairs and enhancing their participation in decision-making at all levels.
