Today, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrimi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, engaged with Salem Thabet Al-Awlaki, the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance. The discussion primarily revolved around the ministry’s operational progress and ongoing initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the state’s administrative apparatus.
During the meeting, Al-Mahrimi reviewed a comprehensive report presented by Minister Al-Awlaki. This document outlined completed tasks, existing challenges, and the current status of transactions affecting public service employees. Furthermore, it highlighted strategic plans aimed at reorganizing administrative work and addressing ongoing issues. These efforts are aligned with the broader objective of evaluating institutional performance and refining administrative procedures to boost government efficiency.
Al-Mahrimi underscored the importance of intensifying efforts to elevate performance quality within the ministry. He stressed the necessity of simplifying procedures and expediting employee transactions, initiatives that are designed to foster workplace discipline and strengthen institutional operations.
The meeting also addressed several critical issues, including salary adjustments and job settlements. They discussed the disbursement of pensions for returnees covered by Decision No. (7) – the third batch – which has faced delays since December 2024. Al-Mahrimi emphasized the need to complete the remaining data to ensure prompt payments.
Additionally, the conversation included addressing job duplication as a means to enhance performance efficiency and regulate the structure of public employment. Al-Mahrimi insisted on the necessity of applying governance standards within the ministry’s institutions, aiming to ensure administrative and financial discipline while promoting transparency and accountability in alignment with regulatory recommendations.
The meeting between Al-Mahrimi and Al-Awlaki marks a significant step toward improving the administrative framework within Yemen’s civil service. By focusing on efficiency, transparency, and accountability, the ministry aims to better serve both its employees and the public.
