In a significant military engagement today, several members of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia sustained casualties due to an artillery strike by the National Army’s 35th Armored Brigade. This incident occurred while the militia attempted to infiltrate military positions in southeastern Taiz Governorate.
A military source reported that the 35th Armored Brigade’s artillery accurately targeted a Houthi military vehicle. The strike took place as the vehicle tried to breach the area around Al-Furqan School in the Al-Sailah region, located beneath the Al-Salou Pass. The artillery fire resulted in the complete destruction of the vehicle, leading to multiple fatalities and injuries among the militants onboard.
The military source emphasized that the army responded decisively to the infiltration attempt, successfully thwarting the operation. Furthermore, the source highlighted that military units remain on high alert, prepared to counter any hostile actions by the Houthi militia across various fronts in the governorate.
This incident underscores the ongoing conflict in Yemen, where the National Army continues to engage with Houthi forces amid a protracted struggle for control in the region.
