Security and military forces successfully executed a targeted operation against a terrorist hideout in the Al-Abr district of Hadhramaut. This operation led to the seizure of a fully equipped explosives manufacturing lab and the arrest of several wanted individuals.
The First Emergency Forces Brigade reported that the operation involved the Counter-Terrorism Battalion and various security units. Officials coordinated the mission with the Public Prosecution, local authorities, and the Central Security Agency.
The operation focused on the residence of Ali Abdullah bin Haftan Al-Sayari, known by the Houthi intelligence as “Abu Zamel.” Investigations confirmed that this location was used for manufacturing explosives and housing wanted criminals, as well as conducting sabotage activities. The site’s geographical position allowed easy access to the provinces of Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Marib, and Al-Jawf.
Security information revealed that the site was involved in planning operations targeting supply lines along the international route. Additionally, it had connections to various criminal and security issues, including the targeting of a Saudi citizen traveling towards Aden and attacks on military personnel. The site also facilitated trafficking of prohibited materials.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a dangerous suspect linked to armed robbery and terrorism for approximately 15 years. Authorities also detained the homeowner’s son. The forces discovered a complete manufacturing lab, several ready-made explosives, weapons, military equipment, night vision goggles, and narcotics.
Following the operation, a specialized engineering team began securing and documenting the explosives and other seized items according to established security protocols. This step is crucial for continuing investigations and referring the case to judicial authorities.
The leadership of the First Emergency Forces Brigade emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and track down wanted individuals. They aim to eliminate sources of sabotage activities in coordination with various military and security agencies, thereby enhancing security and stability for citizens.
The leadership reiterated their commitment to conducting security and intelligence operations in accordance with the law, ensuring that all seized items and suspects will undergo legal proceedings.
