The Meteorological and Early Warning Center of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology has issued a weather forecast for Sunday, predicting hot to extremely hot conditions across various regions of Yemen. Coastal areas will experience humid weather, with skies ranging from clear to partly cloudy. There is a possibility of scattered rain showers along the eastern and western coasts, as well as in the Socotra Archipelago. Winds will pick up around the archipelago and parts of the southern coasts.
In the mountainous regions, the forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with moderate temperatures. Residents should prepare for the possibility of heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail in various areas, particularly in the western and southwestern slopes. This weather may extend to parts of Lahij, Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadramout.
The desert and plateau areas will see dry conditions with partly cloudy skies. Expect hot to extremely hot temperatures during the day, while nights will be moderate. Active winds may stir up dust in these regions.
The Meteorological Center has provided expected temperature ranges for today. Coastal areas will see maximum temperatures between 30°C and 37°C in Aden and 28°C to 34°C in Mukalla. In the desert regions, temperatures may reach up to 42°C in Sayun. Meanwhile, the mountainous areas will experience highs of 32°C in Sana’a. Citizens in coastal and desert regions are advised to avoid direct sunlight and follow safety measures in areas forecasted for rain.
In the marine bulletin, the center predicts sea conditions will range from slight to moderate waves in the Bab al-Mandab and western coasts. However, the seas off the coasts of Al-Mahra and Hadramout will be moderate to rough, while the Socotra Archipelago will experience rough seas. Fishermen and ship captains should exercise caution due to rough sea conditions, high waves, and strong winds in the eastern coasts, Gulf of Aden, and Arabian Sea.
