Welcoming Reception at the Arab League Office

The meeting took place at the Arab League office in London, where Dr. Al-Alimi received a warm welcome from Ambassador Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Muftah, the head of the Arab League office. Attendees included Dr. Yasin Saeed Noman, Yemen’s ambassador to the UK, Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s ambassador and dean of the Arab diplomatic corps in Britain, along with several other Arab ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions.

Expressions of Gratitude and Solidarity

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al-Alimi conveyed greetings and appreciation from Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, to the Arab ambassadors. Current Situation in Yemen

Dr. Al-Alimi provided an overview of the latest developments in Yemen, highlighting the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to address political, economic, and humanitarian challenges. Shared Security Interests

Dr. Al-Alimi stressed that Yemen’s relationship with its Arab neighbors extends beyond mere concern for Yemen’s situation. He asserted that Yemen’s security and stability are integral to the broader Arab national security framework. He noted that restoring Yemen’s state institutions serves as a common Arab interest, reinforcing the idea that Yemen’s success in rebuilding its state will benefit the entire Arab world.

Support for National Statehood

The council member clarified that Yemen does not seek its Arab neighbors to fight its battles but rather to support the national state project and its institutions. He reiterated that Yemen’s stability translates to regional stability, emphasizing that a strong Yemen can secure its borders and contribute to collective Arab security.

Commitment to Peace Efforts

Dr. Al-Alimi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to peace, highlighting its active participation in various political initiatives aimed at achieving a fair and lasting resolution. He underscored the importance of adhering to agreed-upon national, regional, and international frameworks that align with the aspirations of the Yemeni people while safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.

Strengthening Diplomatic Coordination

The meeting also addressed the necessity of enhancing diplomatic coordination among Arab embassies to advocate for just causes and unify positions on common challenges. Dr. Al-Alimi highlighted the dangers posed by Iranian influence and its armed proxies in the region, which threaten Arab national security by fueling conflicts and social unrest.

Acknowledgment of Arab Support

Dr. Al-Alimi expressed gratitude for the support from Arab nations, particularly Saudi Arabia, which has provided humanitarian, economic, developmental, political, and military assistance to Yemen. He commended the Arab nations for their backing of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government’s efforts to restore security and stability.

Conclusion and Future Cooperation
