According to a statement from the project’s operations room, the removal operations included:

  • 1,584 unexploded munitions
  • 21 anti-tank mines
  • 4 anti-personnel mines

This significant achievement underscores the ongoing commitment of Masam to ensure safety in areas affected by conflict.

These concerted efforts play a crucial role in mitigating risks to civilian lives and enhancing safety.

In May 2023, Masam teams cleared approximately 1,202,243 square meters of land in Yemen, significantly reducing threats to civilian safety and creating secure areas for agricultural and civil use. In just the past week, field teams managed to clear an additional 8,200 square meters of land, part of ongoing emergency demining efforts in affected regions.

In the Medi district of Hajjah province, Masam teams have removed 9,978 landmines and unexploded ordnance since the project’s inception in the area. They have also successfully cleared 3,006,250 square meters of land, contributing to enhanced security and the restoration of normalcy for residents in liberated and mine-affected regions.

The ongoing efforts of the Masam project continue to have a significant positive impact on the safety and well-being of Yemeni communities.
