The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has significantly ramped up its operational readiness at the Prophet’s Mosque. This initiative is designed to serve visitors and worshippers following the completion of Hajj rituals. The authority is committed to facilitating worship in a serene environment through a comprehensive system of field and organizational services.
In a statement released by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the authority outlined its extensive preparations for welcoming pilgrims. Among these efforts is the opening of 141 gates to effectively manage the flow of people entering and exiting both the men’s and women’s sections of the mosque. Additionally, the establishment of 100 organized pathways within the mosque and its surrounding areas is aimed at ensuring smooth movement for all visitors and worshippers.
The provision of facilities is a key aspect of the authority’s preparations. A total of 25,000 prayer rugs have been placed throughout the mosque and its adjacent courtyards to accommodate worshippers. To enhance mobility, 194 staircases and elevators have been installed, making navigation easier for visitors. Furthermore, 10,000 Zamzam water dispensers have been set up to ensure that worshippers have access to water throughout the mosque and its grounds.
To improve the overall experience for visitors, the installation of 2,782 restrooms in service areas beneath the mosque has been completed. The authority has also activated 6,060 audio speakers across various locations within the mosque to ensure clear communication during prayers, sermons, and educational sessions.
These initiatives reflect the authority’s unwavering commitment to providing the best possible services for those visiting the Prophet’s Mosque. By enhancing operational readiness, the General Authority aims to create a conducive environment for worship and reflection during the post-Hajj period.
