Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon again, despite the recent U.S.-Iran agreement.

Israeli Airstrikes Intensify in Southern Lebanon Amid U.S.-Iran Agreement

On Wednesday, Israeli forces launched extensive airstrikes across several regions in southern Lebanon. This escalation occurred despite recent announcements from Washington and Tehran regarding a new agreement aimed at ending hostilities between them, which includes the Lebanon front involving Israel and Hezbollah, according to the National News Agency.

Details of the Airstrikes

Israeli warplanes targeted the town of Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa near the city of Nabatiyeh, as well as the eastern outskirts of the neighboring town of Kfar Tebnit. Additionally, an Israeli drone struck the town of Ansariyeh in the Zahrani area. Although there was a relative decrease in the frequency of strikes following the announcement of the U.S.-Iran agreement, the agency reported that at least five individuals lost their lives in southern Lebanon due to the Israeli airstrikes in recent hours.

Israeli Military Intercepts Rockets

In a related development, the Israeli military announced on Tuesday that it conducted an airstrike after detecting a suspicious vehicle in an area where its soldiers were stationed, although the specific location remained undisclosed. The military also confirmed that its forces intercepted several rockets launched at Israeli troops in southern Lebanon, prompting the air force to target and destroy the launch platform.

Hezbollah’s Position

Regarding Hezbollah, reports indicate that the group has not claimed responsibility for any new attacks against Israeli forces since Tuesday. Meanwhile, Israel continues to occupy parts of southern Lebanon, maintaining heightened tensions along the border.
