International Organization for Migration: 33 Yemeni families displaced due to security and economic reasons in one week.

International Organization for Migration Reports Displacement of 33 Yemeni Families

On Saturday, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced the displacement of 33 families from various Yemeni governorates within the past week.

Weekly Displacement Data

In its weekly report, the IOM highlighted that its tracking matrix recorded the displacement of 33 Yemeni families, totaling 198 individuals, from January 5 to January 11. The report indicates that families fled from the governorates of Al Hudaydah, Taiz, and Marib, with 28 families settling in Marib and five families relocating to Al Hudaydah.

Reasons Behind Displacement

The IOM identified economic factors related to the ongoing conflict as the primary reason for the displacement of 19 families, accounting for 58% of the total. Additionally, security and safety concerns arising from the conflict prompted 14 families to leave their homes, representing 42% of the total displacement cases.

Cumulative Displacement Figures

From January 1 to January 11, 2025, the total number of displaced families reached 63, comprising 378 individuals. This alarming trend underscores the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen, driven by conflict and economic instability.
