In a significant move to bolster the healthcare sector, Yemen’s Health Minister, Dr. Qasim Buhaibeh, examined the contributions of the International Society for the Care of Victims of Wars and Disasters, known as Al-Ameen, today. This engagement underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services amidst the challenges posed by conflicts and disasters.
During a meeting with Dr. Mohammed Darbaa, the Regional Director of Al-Ameen, Minister Buhaibeh gained insights into the society’s strategic plans and programs. Discussions focused on renewing and unifying completed projects, outlining future intervention plans, and identifying intervention areas. The society’s initiatives, notably in providing prosthetic limbs and dialysis services across several provinces, were at the forefront of these deliberations.
Minister Buhaibeh lauded Al-Ameen’s impactful interventions in the healthcare sector, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to supporting the society’s noble mission to assist those in need. Looking ahead, there is a keen interest in coordinating efforts to build the capacity of health institutes, strengthen infrastructure, and update curriculums to meet current and future healthcare demands.
This collaboration between Yemen’s Ministry of Public Health and Population and the International Society for the Care of Victims of Wars and Disasters highlights a shared commitment to improving the healthcare landscape in Yemen. As these efforts continue, the focus remains on providing essential services to the most vulnerable populations, thereby fostering a healthier and more resilient society.
