Defense Minister praises Taiz’s pivotal role in confronting Houthi militia.

In a recent meeting, Yemen’s Defense Minister, Major General Mohsen Al-Daeri, lauded the pivotal role and resilience of Taiz Governorate’s frontlines in combating the Houthi militia, which is backed by the Iranian regime. He highlighted the significant sacrifices and legendary steadfastness demonstrated by the governorate over the years of conflict with the militia.

The meeting, which took place today, was attended by Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan, the Chief of Staff for the Taiz Axis Major General Abdulaziz Al-Majidi, representatives of the families of martyrs and the wounded, and Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Ahmed Al-Basr. The discussions focused on the current situation in the axis and specifically addressed the matters concerning the martyrs and the wounded among its ranks.

Major General Al-Daeri emphasized the priority of addressing the needs of the martyrs and the wounded, underscoring the Defense Ministry’s commitment to treating and caring for the wounded and supporting the families of the armed forces’ martyrs. This commitment, he noted, is both a national duty and a tribute to their heroism and sacrifices for the nation’s defense and dignity. He also pointed out the effective role of the local authority in supporting military units and security agencies to enhance the security and stability of the governorate.

Governor Shamsan expressed his appreciation for the Defense Ministry’s focus on the governorate and its military axis, particularly its attention to the issues of martyrs and the wounded.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of Military Intelligence, Major General Ahmed Mohsen Al-Yafei.

This acknowledgment of Taiz’s crucial role and the ministry’s commitment to its military and civilian casualties underscores the ongoing efforts to address the impacts of the conflict in Yemen.
