Leadership Transition in Intelligence and Surveillance Agency

Today, in a significant ceremony at the Ministry of Defense in the temporary capital of Aden, Defense Minister Major General Dr. Taher Al-Aqili oversaw the handover of leadership for the Intelligence and Surveillance Agency. The transition took place between the outgoing head, Major General Ahmed Al-Yafai, and the newly appointed head, Major General Thabit Al-Rudhfani.

Importance of Strengthening Intelligence Operations

During the handover ceremony, Minister Al-Aqili praised the previous leadership’s efforts to activate and enhance intelligence operations. He noted that the achievements made, despite numerous challenges, were commendable. Al-Aqili emphasized the need to continue strengthening intelligence capabilities to ensure efficient task execution.

Congratulations and Ministerial Directives

Minister Al-Aqili congratulated Major General Thabit Al-Rudhfani on his new appointment, highlighting the confidence placed in him by political and military leadership. He stressed that the current phase demands intensified efforts and a focus on institutional development. Furthermore, he urged the new leadership to build upon previous accomplishments and continuously improve the agency’s performance.

Commitment to Development

In response, Major General Thabit Al-Rudhfani expressed his gratitude for the trust bestowed upon him and acknowledged the efforts of his predecessor, Major General Al-Yafai. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the intelligence framework and completing its modernization to achieve the set objectives.

Attendance of Prominent Military Leaders

The ceremony attracted several prominent military leaders, including Deputy Chief of General Staff Major General Ahmed Al-Basri and Governor of Al-Dhale Governorate, Major General Ahmed Al-Qubba. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration among various military institutions to enhance security and stability in the country.
