Abyan Governor Reinforces State Authority

Abyan, Yemen – Dr. Mukhtar bin al-Khadr al-Rabash al-Haythami, the Governor of Abyan, has emphasized that the local government’s primary objective is to strengthen state authority and eliminate all illegal tax collection points. He asserted that the pathway to stability and development begins with enhancing security and discipline at checkpoints across the region.

Field Inspections and Commitment to Law Enforcement

During a recent field visit, Governor al-Haythami inspected several security locations alongside Brigadier Ali Nasser Baazib, the Director of Security for the province, and Colonel Awad al-Awaini, the head of the Emergency Police. This visit was aimed at assessing the readiness and discipline of security personnel.

The governor reiterated the critical importance of implementing directives to dismantle all illegal tax collection points. He firmly stated that any unlawful practices or disruptions to the movement of citizens would not be tolerated. Governor al-Haythami highlighted that the primary role of security personnel is to protect citizens and project a positive image of the state.

Security as a Foundation for Development

In his address, Governor al-Haythami noted that a robust security environment is essential for any developmental process. He emphasized that an improved security situation serves as a cornerstone for forthcoming service and development projects in the province.

The governor praised the vigilance of security personnel and their ongoing coordination, stressing the necessity to enhance discipline and effectiveness among security forces. He also called upon relevant authorities in the districts, including trade and industry offices, to fulfill their responsibilities in regulating prices and preventing the exploitation of citizens, aligning with efforts to eliminate illegal tax collection.

Furthermore, Governor al-Haythami encouraged citizens to cooperate with security agencies and report any violations, asserting that security is a shared responsibility between the state and the community. He reaffirmed that the local authority, in collaboration with security and military agencies, will respond decisively to any threats to security and stability, indicating that Abyan is progressing towards a new era characterized by order, stability, and development.
