The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms documented 66 crimes and violations committed by Houthi terrorist militias against civilians and civilian objects in Taiz Governorate over the past 73 hours.
The report indicated that Houthi attacks resulted in the deaths of three civilians, including two women and a child. Additionally, 16 others sustained injuries, comprising four children and 12 women. The militias launched approximately 356 projectiles at populated neighborhoods and areas, escalating violence amid ongoing blockades and tightened restrictions on civilian movement and access to essential supplies.
The report highlighted that various neighborhoods and villages in the governorate experienced continuous shelling and sniper operations. Affected areas included the Jara isolation in the Al-Masrak district, Al-Quroud, Mashra’a and Hadnan, Hasban, Asifera, Al-Mashrah, the Central Prison area, and several villages in the Jabal Sabir district. The imposed blockade exacerbated the suffering of residents and complicated their ability to transport the injured through the rugged mountain roads.
The network held Houthi terrorist militias fully responsible for the documented attacks and their humanitarian consequences. It demanded independent investigations that encompass all individuals involved in planning, ordering, and executing these violations, as well as anyone found responsible for these acts.
The network emphasized that the ongoing impunity contributes to the recurrence of crimes and intensifies the suffering of victims. It called for accountability for those responsible and urged measures to prevent future violations.
