The Executive Office of Marib held a meeting today, chaired by Deputy Governor Dr. Abdurrahman Muftah. The meeting focused on performance reports from several government offices in the province, as well as various national issues and their implications for Marib.
During the meeting, attended by Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs Abdullah Al-Bakri, officials reviewed reports submitted by the directors of the Literacy Branch, Munir Qasim; the Marib Dam Project, Engineer Ahmed Al-Areifi; and the Agricultural Research Station for the Eastern Region (Marib and Al-Jawf), Dr. Mohammed Al-Ghabar. These reports detailed the progress of their administrative units, activities, and programs implemented throughout the year according to approved plans. The officials discussed levels of achievement, challenges faced, and recommendations to overcome these obstacles, making appropriate decisions based on the discussions.
The Executive Office members also listened to a report from the Director of the Civil Service Office in the province, Saud Al-Yousifi. This report addressed the level of job discipline in local authority offices and government units operating in the province. The meeting took necessary measures to enhance job discipline, aiming to improve the services provided to citizens and elevate administrative performance.
The meeting addressed several issues related to the province’s readiness and public mobilization to support the armed forces and popular resistance in the “Dawn of Yemen” battle. This effort aims to restore state institutions and end the rebellion of the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias. The humanitarian situation in the province and ongoing efforts to respond to new and continuous displacement into Marib were also discussed.
The Executive Office of Marib praised the heroic resilience and sacrifices made by the people of Taiz. They commended the community’s support for the armed forces in their fight against Houthi militias, defending their land, city, republican system, dignity, freedom, and equal citizenship. The members acknowledged the courage displayed in the face of Houthi terrorist forces and their armed assaults, as well as the direct targeting of residential neighborhoods, homes, medical facilities, and public establishments.
The Executive Office condemned the global silence regarding the complete siege imposed on over one and a half million citizens in Taiz by Houthi militias. They criticized the blockade that prevents access to water, food, medicine, and essential supplies, using the siege as a weapon of war for genocide. This constitutes a complete war crime alongside the bombardment of populated areas with ballistic missiles, Katyusha rockets, drones, and various types of weapons, resulting in the deaths and injuries of numerous civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.
The Executive Office urged the international community, international organizations, and the United Nations to break their silence and move beyond timid statements that fail to identify the perpetrators. They called for effective international action through UN resolutions to classify the militias as an international terrorist group and to refer their crimes to international courts for prosecution. They demanded effective sanctions to cut off funding and arms supplies to the terrorist militias and their collaborators, as well as the opening of safe corridors for those besieged in Taiz and the withdrawal from recently occupied villages and areas.
The Executive Office of Marib recognized the bravery of members of the armed forces and popular resistance in the “Dawn of Yemen” battle, highlighting the achievements made on various fronts. They acknowledged the support from the Yemeni Air Force and the coalition led by Saudi Arabia to restore state institutions, end the Houthi rebellion, alleviate citizens’ suffering, and establish the authority of the state across the national territory. They emphasized the importance of peace, security, and stability throughout the country and its territorial waters.
The meeting began with a review and approval of the minutes from the previous session.
