A significant military meeting took place today, led by Major General Khaled Al-Ashwal, the Chief of Operations at the Ministry of Defense. The meeting focused on implementing stringent measures to enhance the security of international roads, ensuring the safety of civilians and travelers, and protecting vital and oil facilities. This initiative aligns with the directives from political and military leadership, as well as the declaration of a state of emergency.
The meeting included high-ranking officials such as the Chief of Staff of the Military Police, the Chief of Staff of the Third Military Region, and commanders from the Third, Sixth, and Seventh Military Regions. Additionally, leaders from the 23rd Infantry Brigade, the 217th Road Security Brigade, and the 107th Infantry Brigade participated. Together, they approved a series of field actions aimed at pursuing saboteurs and highway robbers. They also discussed activating surveillance towers and enhancing coordination with security and intelligence agencies to track down disruptive elements.
Major General Al-Ashwal emphasized the need to raise combat readiness and maintain high security vigilance. He urged forces to respond decisively to any attempts that threaten road safety or vital installations. He asserted that the armed forces would act firmly against anyone attempting to undermine security or disturb public peace. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of reinforcing the state’s authority and declared an open confrontation against saboteurs and highway robbers. The meeting also called for increased security patrols and the establishment of medical units along international routes to address emergencies.
Major General Al-Ashwal acknowledged the unwavering support from political and military leadership, particularly from President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council. He urged the forces to thwart the efforts of those who spread rumors and to counteract them with a strong field presence and tangible achievements.
During the meeting, Major General Al-Ashwal praised the efforts of the armed forces in securing roads and facilities. He listened to detailed reports from unit leaders regarding the implementation status and existing challenges. He assured that measures would be taken to address these issues, thereby enhancing performance and achieving security and stability.
Following the meeting, Major General Al-Ashwal inspected several military units and checkpoints along the international road connecting Marib and Al-Abd. He stressed the need to double efforts, improve readiness, and maintain high security vigilance. He commended the achievements and efforts made in recent months, reinforcing the commitment to ongoing security enhancements.
This meeting marks a crucial step in ensuring the safety and security of vital infrastructure and the general public, reflecting the military’s dedication to maintaining order and stability in the region.
