The Ministry of Defense and the General Staff today initiated a public mobilization and community alert, following directives from His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
This announcement occurred during a comprehensive meeting chaired by Defense Minister Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqili in the temporary capital, Aden. The Chief of General Staff, Major General Sagheer Bin Aziz, participated via video conference from Marib, alongside the Assistant Ministers of Defense, the Deputy Chief of Staff, heads of departments, and directors within the Ministry of Defense.
The Defense Minister praised the heroism and sacrifices made by the armed forces across various fronts. He expressed condolences for the souls of the martyrs who fell while fulfilling their national duty in defense of the revolution and the republic against the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias.
Lieutenant General Al-Aqili announced the implementation of practical measures to execute the public mobilization and general alert. These measures include activating human mobilization pathways and reserves, organizing reception centers, and assigning relevant authorities to carry out their designated tasks.
The Defense Minister emphasized the armed forces’ commitment to their national and constitutional duty in defending the homeland’s sovereignty and defeating the Houthi terrorist militias. He stressed the importance of military discipline, mobilizing resources, and coordinating efforts until the liberation of the capital, Sana’a, and every inch of national territory.
In his remarks, the Chief of General Staff affirmed that the announcement of public mobilization represents a national decision that necessitates a structured transition to the highest levels of readiness. He called for unifying efforts and resources, enhancing the armed forces’ efficiency, and strengthening their capacity to fulfill their constitutional and legal duties.
Major General Bin Aziz emphasized the need to complete the assessment of forces, resources, and requirements. He highlighted the importance of organizing the call-up and reinforcement processes within legal frameworks while maintaining leadership and administrative continuity, accurate information, and rapid response. He urged an increase in discipline, readiness, training, and teamwork.
He pointed out that public mobilization represents a national responsibility that extends beyond military units, involving state institutions and society. This collaboration enhances the state’s ability to confront exceptional circumstances and ensures the continuity of essential services for citizens.
The Chief of Staff expressed gratitude to the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for its support in various fields. He acknowledged their steadfast position alongside the Yemeni people, national unity, and armed forces in confronting the Houthi terrorist agenda.
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Assistant Ministers of Defense, heads of departments, and directors of the Moral Guidance and Legal Affairs departments reviewed the necessary procedures to implement the public mobilization and community alert, as well as the tasks resulting from this decision across various levels of the armed forces.
