Governor Nabil Shamsan of Taiz commended the historical significance of Almawasit District, highlighting its role as a model of struggle and social peace, as well as a strategic reservoir of national competencies.
This statement came during a meeting today with several sheikhs, dignitaries, social figures, and tribal leaders in Almawasit District. The meeting included the presence of Abdullah Naaman, Secretary-General of the Popular Unity Nasserist Organization, Brigadier General Abdul Jalil Gharshan, Director General of the District, and Brigadier General Jamil Aqlan, Commander of the Special Security Forces. This gathering aimed to strengthen national unity and consolidate the internal front against the Iranian-backed Houthi militias.
During the meeting, Governor Shamsan reviewed ongoing preparations to support the front lines and enhance internal unity. He expressed gratitude to the political and military leadership, represented by President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, for their efforts in unifying military ranks and activating various formations under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense.
Shamsan emphasized that various components now form a single army to confront the Houthi militias, operating under a unified national framework. He reiterated the commitment to the decisions of the National Defense Council, which aims to fulfill the aspirations of the Yemeni people and restore state institutions.
The governor clarified that the security of Taiz, the dignity of its citizens, and the sacrifices of its martyrs are national constants that remain non-negotiable. He assured that the local authority stands ready to provide support to the armed forces, security, and the residents of the district, contributing to the protection and complete liberation of the governorate.
Governor Shamsan expressed appreciation for the historical and brotherly support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, acknowledging its steadfast positions in supporting the Yemeni people and ensuring their security and stability.
For his part, Abdullah Naaman, Secretary-General of the Popular Unity Nasserist Organization, affirmed that the national battle represents a responsibility to defend the republican system and national identity. He called for overcoming differences and enhancing unity to confront the Houthi militias.
The sheikhs, dignitaries, and social figures reiterated their support for the local authority and state institutions. They confirmed their readiness to continue contributing to the enhancement of security and stability and to defend the homeland until the complete liberation of the governorate.
