Today, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Prime Minister Dr. Sha’if Mohsen Al-Zandani in the temporary capital, Aden. They discussed the general situation, government priorities, and efforts to address challenges while improving services and living conditions for citizens.
The meeting reviewed the status of public services in Aden and the liberated governorates. Key areas of focus included electricity, water, health, education, and sanitation. The officials highlighted the significant difficulties facing these service sectors and discussed necessary measures to ensure service continuity and enhance performance, aiming to alleviate citizens’ suffering.
The discussion also addressed humanitarian conditions amid the repercussions of Houthi escalation and increasing waves of displacement. The officials emphasized the importance of enhancing government response capabilities and improving the capacity of relevant agencies to accommodate and shelter displaced individuals. They stressed the need to provide essential healthcare and food supplies in coordination with international organizations and humanitarian partners.
In terms of military and security matters, the meeting covered recent developments on the frontlines, Houthi escalation, and the level of readiness and coordination among security forces. The officials underscored the importance of continuing support for the frontlines and maintaining vigilance to respond to field developments.
The meeting also touched on the economic and financial situation, highlighting the need to strengthen state institutions’ ability to meet their obligations and secure basic needs. They discussed ongoing measures aimed at stabilizing markets and improving financial and institutional performance.
Al-Mahrami emphasized the importance of prioritizing service and humanitarian issues within government operations. He called for directing available resources toward basic needs and enhancing integration between ministries and local authorities to ensure service continuity and improve performance in vital sectors.
The Council member stressed the necessity of ongoing coordination between the Presidential Leadership Council and the government. He urged the unification of priorities during this critical phase to enhance stability in Aden and improve service levels while supporting state institutions in addressing service and humanitarian requirements.
For his part, Prime Minister Al-Zandani expressed gratitude to Council member Al-Mahrami for his continuous attention and follow-up on various issues and files. He acknowledged Al-Mahrami’s commitment to supporting government efforts and overcoming challenges. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing plans and programs aimed at improving service levels, addressing economic and humanitarian challenges, and enhancing state institutions’ performance across all sectors.
