A recent meeting, chaired by Council Member Major General Sultan al-Aradah and Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, focused on the ongoing operations in the oil and gas institutions in Marib Governorate. Officials from various oil and gas companies presented detailed reports outlining their performance levels, existing challenges, and development proposals. These insights aimed to ensure optimal utilization of resources in this vital sector, which plays a crucial role in supporting the national economy.
During the meeting, Major General Sultan al-Aradah underscored the importance of addressing current challenges and improving the working environment. He emphasized the need to enhance productivity and achieve the highest levels of efficiency and transparency. These improvements are essential for boosting the performance of the oil and gas sector in liberated provinces and reinforcing its contribution to the national economy.
Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak stressed the necessity of completing several fundamental tasks. These include improving the efficiency of institutions operating in the oil and gas sector, enhancing governance, and restoring full operational capabilities. He highlighted the importance of building international partnerships to develop the sector further and implementing strict oversight to combat corruption. The Prime Minister noted that the government’s success in executing its primary priorities heavily relies on resource development.
Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak affirmed the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all oil and gas operations. The meeting included several key figures, such as Finance Minister Salem bin Bureik, Electricity and Energy Minister Engineer Mani bin Yamin, and the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Engineer Anis Baharitha. Other attendees included Prime Minister Advisor Ambassador Mujib Othman, General Petroleum and Gas Corporation President Mohammed Awad Thabet, and Executive Director of the Emergency Response Unit Jamal bin Ghanem.
