President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, departed New York alongside Council member Othman Mujalli following their participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Their attendance marked a significant moment for Yemen on the international stage.
During high-level discussions at the UN, President Alimi addressed world leaders about the current situation in Yemen. He presented the Presidential Leadership Council’s vision and the government’s efforts to restore peace and alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militia. His remarks emphasized the urgent need for global support to end the ongoing suffering in Yemen.
In addition to his speech, President Alimi, along with Council members Aidarus Al-Zubaidi and Othman Mujalli, engaged in several bilateral meetings. They explored strategies to de-escalate tensions and counter threats posed by militias and terrorist organizations, aiming to secure stability and international peace in Yemen.
As President Alimi and Council member Mujalli departed, they received a warm send-off from Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Abdullah Al-Saad, and Yemen’s Ambassador to Washington, Mohammed Al-Hadrami. Several members of the diplomatic mission and embassy staff were also present to bid farewell.
This participation underscores Yemen’s commitment to seeking peace and stability through international collaboration and dialogue.
