Strengthening Sports and Youth Cooperation: Yemen and China Forge Ahead

In a significant meeting held in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital, on Wednesday, Youth and Sports Minister Nayef Al-Bakri engaged in discussions with Zhao Cheng, the Acting Chinese Ambassador to Yemen. The focus was on exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two nations in the realms of sports and youth development.

A Legacy of Strong Bilateral Relations

Minister Al-Bakri, accompanied by ministry deputies Dr. Azzam Khalifeh, Khaled Al-Khalifi, and Nadia Abdullah, lauded the longstanding and distinguished relationship between Yemen and China. He highlighted China’s ongoing support for Yemen, particularly emphasizing the sports sector. Al-Bakri expressed the ministry’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening communication with the Chinese Embassy, aiming to further develop the sports domain and solidify the bilateral relationship.

China’s Full Support for Yemeni Sports

On his part, Zhao Cheng, the Acting Chinese Ambassador, reaffirmed China’s full support for Yemen’s sports activities. He emphasized the importance of working towards the development and advancement of sports in Yemen, ensuring notable performance in international competitions. Zhao pointed out the critical role of youth in the progress and development of a country, underscoring the need for enhanced engagement and communication with young people.
