Yemeni Foreign Minister Leads Delegation to Arab League Council Session in Cairo

Arrival in Cairo

In a significant diplomatic move, Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Shaia Al-Zindani, along with his accompanying delegation, arrived in Cairo, Egypt, today. They are set to lead the Yemeni delegation in the 162nd session of the Arab League Council at the level of Arab foreign ministers.

Yemen Assumes Leadership

Yemen took over the presidency of the Arab League Council at both the delegate and ministerial levels yesterday, Sunday. This transition marks a pivotal moment for Yemen, showcasing its active participation and leadership within the Arab League.

Focus on Palestinian Issue and Regional Stability

The session’s agenda is headlined by the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict, emphasizing the political developments of the Palestinian cause. The discussions will also cover Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the West Bank, underlining the urgency and importance of these matters.

Additionally, the agenda extends to various critical topics, including Arab affairs, Arab national security, and the situations in Lebanon, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and Sudan. The session aims to foster Arab cooperation on the international stage and review joint Arab actions, including a report by the Secretary-General of the Arab League covering the activities between the 161st and 162nd sessions.

Enhancing Arab Unity and Cooperation

This meeting in Cairo represents a crucial step towards addressing key issues affecting the Arab world. With Yemen at the helm of the council, there’s a renewed focus on collaboration and unity among Arab nations to tackle common challenges and promote stability in the region.
