The Republic of Yemen participated today in the annual meeting of the Arab Economic and Social Councils Union held in Amman, Jordan. The Yemeni delegation was led by Dr. Jalal Faqira, Yemen’s ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Ambassador Faqira praised the consistent activities of the union, highlighting its meetings and efforts to expand membership. He emphasized the significance of today’s gathering, particularly regarding the agenda items. Key topics included the restructuring of the union’s internal regulations, developing a work plan for the upcoming period, and discussing mechanisms for expanding the union’s membership.
The meeting included representatives from Algeria, which currently holds the presidency of the union, along with Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Mauritania, Palestine, Morocco, the President of the Arab Labor Organization, and the General Secretariat of the Arab Economic and Social Councils Union. Participants concluded the meeting with a final statement and several decisions aimed at enhancing the union’s operations in the future.
This annual meeting marks a crucial step in fostering collaboration among Arab nations in economic and social development, paving the way for future partnerships and initiatives.
