The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the ongoing assaults by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. This condemnation follows two recent incidents: the burning of the Grand Mosque in the village of Jaljulia and the arson of the Al-Farooq Mosque in the village of Mazarat al-Nubani, located north of Ramallah.
In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that these unlawful actions represent a blatant violation of the sanctity of religious sites. They also constitute an unacceptable infringement on the rights and properties of Palestinian civilians. Furthermore, these acts clearly breach international law and humanitarian law, contradicting relevant international resolutions. Such violence exacerbates tensions and undermines efforts to achieve security, stability, and peace in the region.
The statement reiterated Yemen’s call for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations toward the Palestinian people. Yemen urged global actors to halt the ongoing violations in the occupied Palestinian territories and to end settlement policies and unilateral actions that jeopardize the prospects for a just and comprehensive peace.
Yemen reaffirmed its unwavering support for the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. This includes their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with full sovereignty along the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital. This stance aligns with relevant United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
