Three Civilians Injured in Houthi Shelling in Taiz

On Tuesday, three civilians sustained injuries when a shell fired by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia struck a residential neighborhood in Taiz city.

Details of the Attack

Local sources reported to September Net that the Houthi militia launched a mortar attack early in the morning, targeting the Block 4 area in the Al-Mudhaffar district. One of the shells landed near a water tank in the neighborhood, where several civilians were present. The explosion resulted in injuries to three civilians, who were subsequently transported to Al-Thawra Hospital for medical treatment.

Previous Incidents of Violence

This incident follows a series of attacks by the Houthi militia. On Monday, they used drone strikes to target residential areas near the former Central Bank, located close to the eastern entrance of the city.

Additionally, just a day prior, the Houthis attacked a gathering of civilians in a popular market in the Al-Maqbana district, resulting in the deaths of six civilians and injuries to eight others.

Ongoing Conflict and Civilian Impact

The ongoing conflict in Yemen continues to pose a significant threat to civilian safety. The recent surge in Houthi attacks highlights the urgent need for a resolution to the violence that has plagued the region for years.

This alarming trend underscores the risks that civilians face daily as hostilities persist. The international community remains concerned about the humanitarian implications of such attacks and calls for immediate action to protect innocent lives.
