Taiz, Yemen – Today, Major General Khalid Fadel, the Commander of the Taiz Axis, alongside Brigadier General Abdul Aziz Al-Majidi, the Chief of Staff, officially inaugurated the combat, operational, and morale training year for 2026. The event took place in the presence of several military leaders from various brigades and battalions.
During the ceremony, General Fadel conveyed greetings from the political and military leadership, specifically from President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. He emphasized that 2026 promises to be a year of victory against the Houthi militia.
The Commander urged all fighters to intensify their efforts and determination. He expressed the need for the upcoming year to reflect significant improvements in training, readiness, and professionalism. Fadel encouraged a high morale and enthusiasm among the troops, stressing the importance of collaboration in the ongoing battle to liberate the remaining territories from Houthi control.
General Fadel noted that the launch of the training year at the Taiz Axis and Military Police marks the first event of its kind for this year. He assured that activities would continue across various units within the axis. He praised the bravery and readiness of the fighters, honored the fallen heroes, and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
Colonel Saeed Al-Sabri, the Head of the Training Division, reiterated that training remains the primary mission for leaders and fighters. He highlighted key achievements from the Taiz Axis in 2025, including the implementation of officer assessments and specialized training courses.
Al-Sabri also pointed out the training tasks outlined in the directive and general plan. He stressed the necessity of evolving training methods to keep pace with technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence and information security. Both individual and collective training will receive significant attention.
The inauguration event included a review of educational points and recognized outstanding performers from the Taiz Axis, Military Police, and Reserve Battalion.
This commitment to training and readiness underscores the determination of the Taiz military leadership to enhance operational capabilities and ensure a successful year ahead.
