Aden, Yemen – In a significant move to strengthen the judiciary in Aden, the Supreme Judicial Council, led by Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib, convened its regular meeting in the temporary capital. The council made several pivotal decisions, including the appointment of judges to various courts in Aden and addressing disciplinary actions against others.

Judicial Appointments in Aden

During the meeting, the council announced the appointment of several judges to key positions within Aden’s judicial system. Judge Ahmed Na’man Mohammed Al-Humais was appointed as a member of the Second Criminal Appellate Division in Aden. Judge Wadi’ Ibrahim Abdullah Khaled was named as a reserve member in the Aden Court of Appeal. Additionally, Judges Marwan Mohammed Salem Al-Saqqaf and Mohammed Qasim Suleiman Faraj were both appointed as judges in the Primary Commercial Court of Aden. These appointments are part of the council’s ongoing efforts to bolster the judiciary’s capacity to deliver justice effectively.

Disciplinary Actions and Retirement

The council also addressed issues of judicial conduct by lifting the immunity of several judges due to misconduct. In a move underscoring the council’s commitment to maintaining integrity within the judiciary, one judge was referred to retirement at his request, following an evaluation of his circumstances.
