Prime Minister Visits Yemen’s First National Forensic Center

On Tuesday, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, the Prime Minister of Yemen, visited the National Forensic Center in Aden, the temporary capital. This center, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind in Yemen.

Overview of the Forensic Center’s Operations

During his visit, Prime Minister bin Mubarak, accompanied by Justice Minister Judge Badr Al-Aradah, assessed the center’s operations. They reviewed how the center conducts examinations and investigations across various fields. The center plays a critical role in analyzing evidence related to both criminal and civil cases, assisting investigative bodies in uncovering the truth.

Insights from the Center’s Director

The Prime Minister listened intently as Judge Mohsen Bashafai, the center’s director, outlined the center’s functions and its staffing needs. He emphasized the necessity for more forensic doctors to strengthen the center’s capabilities. This enhancement is vital for ensuring justice for victims and supporting the rights of the oppressed.

Exploring the Center’s Facilities

Prime Minister bin Mubarak toured several sections of the center, including laboratories, X-ray units, tissue analysis rooms, toxicology labs, and the morgue. He examined the advanced equipment used for forensic science, toxicology testing, ballistics analysis, fingerprint examination, and other critical forensic procedures.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of forensic science as a scientific bastion for the judiciary in achieving justice.
