On Sunday, Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek visited the Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance in Aden. During this visit, he reviewed the ministry’s responsibilities at both local and central levels, particularly focusing on monitoring attendance and employee discipline following the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister received a warm welcome from Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Wali, Deputy Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Maisari, and several ministry leaders. They exchanged Eid al-Adha greetings, with the Prime Minister conveying the best wishes of President Rashad Al-Alimi and the members of the Presidential Leadership Council. He emphasized the ministry’s crucial role in administrative reform and restoring the integrity of public service.
The Prime Minister listened attentively as ministry leaders outlined their legal responsibilities in monitoring employee discipline. They discussed the work of field inspection teams and the ministry’s offices, which oversee compliance across all administrative units at both central and local levels.
Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek chaired a meeting with the ministry’s leadership to discuss ongoing efforts in implementing administrative reforms. The meeting focused on correcting functional discrepancies and enhancing the organizational structure of the state’s administrative apparatus. Additionally, they evaluated the institutional performance of public service units to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Minister Al-Wali and his team provided insights into the ministry’s current efforts and priorities. They highlighted the "100-Day Plan" being developed under the Prime Minister’s directives, aimed at improving administrative processes and ensuring employee discipline across public service units. They also noted the ministry’s achievements regarding allowances and adjustments, which will begin with the Ministries of Education and Public Health, as well as universities. The ministry leaders expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his visit and support for their work.
The Prime Minister urged the swift implementation of allowances and adjustments for employees in the educational and health sectors, as well as for university faculty and staff. He stressed the importance of completing these adjustments for other sectors and addressing issues of dual employment. He called for collaborative efforts with relevant ministries to execute administrative reforms effectively.
In his first field visit since gaining the political leadership’s trust, the Prime Minister acknowledged the ministry’s vital role in the administrative reform process. He highlighted the need to address past issues within public service units and ensure compliance with existing laws. He emphasized that the ministry’s priorities should focus on realism, transparency, and clarity, with achievable goals that support the broader administrative reform plans essential for economic and developmental progress.
