Prime Minister Expresses Deep Condolences for the Passing of Ali Salem Al-Baidh

Prime Minister Dr. Sha’ia Mohsen Al-Zandani expressed profound sorrow over the death of the prominent national figure, Ali Salem Al-Baidh, former Vice President of the Presidential Council. Al-Baidh’s name is closely linked to pivotal political moments in Yemen’s modern history.

Tribute to a National Leader

In a condolence message directed to the family, friends, and supporters of the late Al-Baidh, the Prime Minister praised his significant contributions to Yemen’s political landscape. He recognized Al-Baidh as a key player in shaping the contemporary political experience in Yemen.

Dr. Al-Zandani stated, “With the passing of the great fighter Ali Salem Al-Baidh, Yemen loses one of its most notable political symbols. He played an active role in the national movement and contributed to major transformations, including his partnership in achieving Yemeni unity on May 22, 1990. This unity represented a collective national project that embodied the hopes of Yemenis for a unified state based on partnership, the rule of law, and respect for the people’s will.”

Reflecting on National Experience

The Prime Minister emphasized that this historical moment calls for a reassessment of the national experience through the lens of patriotism. He noted that the journey of political struggle, with its successes and failures, offers valuable lessons. This reflection places a responsibility on future generations to safeguard the national project and address critical issues through statehood, dialogue, and institutional frameworks, steering clear of conflicts that have burdened the nation and its people.

Dr. Al-Zandani remarked that honoring the memory of the late national figure requires a serious national reflection on the importance of fostering national partnership and reinforcing values of consensus. Such efforts will protect the dignity of Yemenis, honor their sacrifices, and lay the foundation for a bright future that they all deserve.

Offering Condolences

The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the family of the deceased, his comrades, and all who mourn his loss. He prayed for the Almighty to grant Al-Baidh eternal mercy and to provide comfort and solace to his family and all Yemenis during this difficult time.
