Prime Minister Announces Emergency Solutions for Fuel Supply in Aden

In a significant move to alleviate the ongoing energy crisis in Aden, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak has initiated measures to expedite the supply of fuel to electricity generation stations. This effort aims to ease the suffering of citizens and implement sustainable solutions in line with the government’s vision for the vital energy sector.

Coordination with Key Officials

Dr. bin Mubarak has engaged in extensive communications with several key officials, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, Minister of Finance Salem bin Brek, Minister of Electricity and Energy Mani’ bin Yamin, and the Governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas. These discussions focus on overseeing the increased flow of crude oil from the Safer fields to power stations in Aden, starting today, Thursday.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the complete shutdown of electricity services in Aden is unacceptable. He called for a serious response from the state and government to identify responsibilities and hold accountable those who fall short, regardless of their position.

Commitment to Sustainable Energy Solutions

Dr. bin Mubarak stated that while the immediate resumption of crude oil supply to power generation stations is crucial, it is not the ultimate goal of the government. He acknowledged the hardships faced by citizens and reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing genuine and sustainable reforms in the energy sector. He noted that the current situation negatively impacts the state’s budget and highlighted the need for proper expenditure of allocated funds for electricity, free from waste and corruption.

Addressing Economic Warfare

The Prime Minister warned of the dangers posed by the economic warfare waged by the Houthi militia against the Yemeni people. He pointed out that their actions exacerbate the suffering of citizens and systematically target the nation’s resources, including oil facilities, which disrupts oil exports. This situation contributes to the ongoing hardships faced by the population and the depreciation of the national currency.

Dr. bin Mubarak urged all state leaders and institutions to work collaboratively from their respective positions to improve the living conditions of the Yemeni people. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling their national, religious, and ethical responsibilities.

A Pledge for Institutional Reforms

The Prime Minister pledged to steadfastly pursue institutional reforms and combat corruption, with the support of the Presidential Leadership Council and allies in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He expressed his determination to do everything possible to serve the Yemeni people, rectify past mistakes, and restore the integrity of the state.

Dr. bin Mubarak concluded with a message of confidence in the collective efforts of all stakeholders, asserting that unity will lead to the success of the Yemeni people in restoring their state and ending the Houthi coup.
