President Rashad Alimi Welcomes U.S. Ambassador Stephen Fagin

On Wednesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, received U.S. Ambassador Stephen Fagin in a significant meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

During the meeting, both leaders discussed the current state of relations between Yemen and the United States. They explored future opportunities for collaboration and ways to enhance the close partnership across various sectors. The dialogue underscored the importance of a united front in addressing mutual challenges.

Addressing Yemen’s Current Situation

The conversation also highlighted the recent developments in Yemen, particularly regarding comprehensive reform efforts. President Alimi emphasized the need for international support to mitigate the impacts of Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities, international shipping routes, and maritime vessels. These attacks have had catastrophic effects on the humanitarian and living conditions in Yemen.

President Alimi praised the exceptional bilateral relations with the United States, recognizing its humanitarian and developmental interventions. He expressed a strong desire for a broader partnership to confront challenges and deter threats that undermine the security and stability of Yemen and the surrounding region.
