The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its approval of the recent announcement regarding a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. This agreement includes critical provisions for the withdrawal from occupied territories, the reopening of the Philadelphi route, the return of displaced residents, the exchange of prisoners, the facilitation of medical travel, and the entry of humanitarian aid.
In a statement shared with the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry praised the collaborative mediation efforts undertaken by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. These countries served as guarantors of the agreement, which aims to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the resilience and sacrifices of the people in Gaza. They have faced a relentless campaign of destruction, violence, and displacement imposed by the Israeli military for over a year. The ministry highlighted the strength of the Gazan community in enduring these hardships.
The ministry emphasized that the time has come to achieve a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace through a two-state solution. This approach aims to fulfill the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for a dignified life and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The ministry reiterated its commitment to adhering to international resolutions, agreements, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Yemeni government remains hopeful that this ceasefire agreement will pave the way for lasting peace in the region, ultimately leading to improved conditions for the Palestinian people.
