Prime Minister Calls for Unified Efforts Against Houthi Coup

In a meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr. Salem Saleh bin Brek emphasized the urgent need for national coordination among various forces and components to confront the Houthi coup and its destructive agenda, which is backed by Iran.

Multi-Faceted Battle for Yemen

Dr. bin Brek highlighted that Yemen’s struggle now spans multiple fronts, including military, political, economic, and service sectors. He stressed that a collective will is essential to reinforce the state’s presence and fulfill citizens’ aspirations for security, stability, and a decent life.

Economic Reforms Amid Challenges

Despite limited resources and a complex situation, the government is committed to urgent economic and administrative reforms. The Prime Minister pointed out ongoing efforts to enhance performance in vital sectors, particularly electricity and essential services. These initiatives aim to halt the collapse of the national currency and address rising costs and service deterioration.

Sustainable Recovery Path Needed

Dr. bin Brek asserted that success in this battle requires more than temporary solutions. A sustainable recovery path must focus on activating state tools and directing spending to benefit citizens in liberated areas. He called for the inclusion of national components in political and administrative decision-making.

Support from National Resistance Leadership

The leadership of the National Resistance Political Bureau expressed its full support for the government. They affirmed their readiness to strengthen national and institutional unity to counter the Houthi coup and establish a just state project.

Addressing Political, Economic, and Humanitarian Developments

The meeting also addressed the latest political, economic, and humanitarian developments. The Prime Minister urged the enhancement of national media discourse to counter Houthi misinformation campaigns and to build public trust in the state and its institutions.
