The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported devastating statistics following the escalation of violence in Gaza. Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive, the conflict has claimed the lives of 6,587 Palestinian families. The ministry documented these losses through a series of airstrikes that targeted residential buildings, leading to significant casualties.
According to the report, the Israeli military has effectively erased 1,206 families from civil registries, with a total of 4,452 individuals from these families confirmed deceased. The data reveals that 2,271 families have lost all but one member, while 3,110 families have seen multiple survivors. Tragically, a substantial portion of the casualties includes children and women. The report highlights that over 20,000 children have become orphans, having lost their parents in the ongoing conflict.
The Palestinian Health Ministry also reported that more than 30,000 individuals are critically injured and require medical treatment outside of Gaza’s hospitals. However, the ongoing closure of the Rafah crossing—now in its sixth month—has severely hindered their access to necessary medical care. The ministry urgently calls for the opening of border crossings to facilitate the transfer of the wounded and ill, as well as to allow the entry of medical supplies and equipment.
As the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, the Palestinian Health Ministry emphasizes the urgent need for humanitarian intervention. The ongoing conflict has inflicted profound suffering on families and individuals, highlighting the critical need for medical assistance and support for those affected by the violence.
