On Tuesday, Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani, the Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, attended the opening session of the Sixth World Conference of Presidents of Parliaments. This significant event takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in collaboration with the United Nations. The conference theme is “A Troubled World: Parliamentary Cooperation and Pluralism for Peace, Justice, and Prosperity for All.”
Running from July 29 to July 31, the conference gathers parliamentary leaders and representatives from various countries. Its primary aim is to enhance the parliamentary dimension of the United Nations’ work. Additionally, the conference seeks to activate partnerships between parliaments and international organizations to address shared global challenges.
During the conference, the Speaker will deliver a speech representing Yemen.
