The Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance announced today, Friday, that the moon sighting has been confirmed. As a result, tomorrow, Saturday, marks the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry reported that a committee tasked with moon sighting, which includes astronomers, esteemed judges, and scholars, confirmed the sighting of the Ramadan crescent this evening. Consequently, Saturday, March 1, 2025, will be recognized as the first day of Ramadan. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Fast when you see it, and break your fast when you see it. If it is obscured from you, then complete the month as thirty days.”
On this significant religious occasion, the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance extended heartfelt congratulations to the Yemeni people, both domestically and abroad. The ministry also conveyed its best wishes to the political leadership, represented by His Excellency the President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
As Yemen prepares to observe Ramadan, communities across the nation will engage in fasting, prayer, and reflection, fostering a spirit of unity and devotion.
