The Minister of Transport inspects employee discipline at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology post-Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Today, Dr. Abdul Salam Hamid, the Minister of Transport, conducted an inspection of the operational discipline at the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology in Aden, following the Eid al-Fitr holiday. This visit aimed to assess employee attendance and commitment to official duties across various sectors, including administrative, legal, financial, safety, and meteorological departments, as well as the Civil Aviation Institute.

During the inspection, the Minister praised the high level of attendance and professional discipline among employees. He acknowledged their efforts in continuously improving service quality for the community.

Meeting on International Airport Projects

Following the inspection, Minister Hamid held a meeting with the leadership of the authority, including directors and general managers, to discuss the progress of projects at Aden International Airport. The meeting focused on the authority’s efforts to finalize the remaining designs and studies necessary for announcing tenders and executing the construction of the General Authority for Civil Aviation building at the airport.

The Minister directed that the project for the Aviation Training Institute be included in the same tender as the authority’s building. He emphasized the need to expedite efforts to complete both projects by the end of 2025, declaring this year as pivotal for the advancement of the civil aviation and meteorology sectors.

Urgent Improvements for Regional Airports

Minister Hamid also instructed the urgent completion of requirements for the airports in Ataq and Socotra. This initiative aims to enhance air navigation services and improve operations at these airports. He noted that other airports in liberated areas are now fully operational, facilitating both domestic and international flights.

The Minister commended the leadership and staff of the authority for their efforts in enhancing and developing airport operations in recent months. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the ministry and the authority to further strengthen the civil aviation sector.

Acknowledgment of Support

Captain Saleh Bin Naheed, the head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Transport’s support for all developmental projects and programs within the authority. This partnership is crucial for the ongoing progress and modernization of the aviation sector in Yemen.
