Minister Discusses Development Projects in Taiz

Today, in the temporary capital of Aden, Local Administration Minister Hussein Al-Aghbari met with Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan to discuss procedural steps for implementing development projects and programs supported by United Nations organizations in the province.

Focus on Economic and Social Development

During the meeting, which included Deputy Minister of Local Administration Moien Mahmoud and the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Local Financial Control and Funding, Awad Mashbah, Minister Al-Aghbari emphasized the importance of translating the recommendations from the Jordan Conference on the Economic and Social Development Plan for Taiz for 2025-2026. He highlighted the need for exceptional meetings to further this agenda. The minister stressed the commitment to enhancing administrative units and deepening the developmental impact of previously executed projects.

Building Trust with Donors

Al-Aghbari underscored the necessity of gaining the trust of donors by effectively executing projects while adhering to principles of accountability and transparency. He also called for increased private sector involvement to bolster funding and implementation efforts.

Acknowledging Local Leadership Efforts

The minister praised the efforts of local leadership in executing development and economic programs aligned with the province’s economic recovery plan and sustainable development strategies.

Achievements in Development Programs

In response, Governor Shamsan highlighted the achievements made in development projects and programs according to the province’s development plan. He elaborated on the contributions of local resources and the ongoing efforts of local authority leaders to mobilize resources for developmental programs and projects in Taiz.

This meeting marks a significant step toward advancing the developmental agenda in Taiz, aiming for a more prosperous future for its residents.
