In a significant meeting held today in the temporary capital of Aden, Local Administration Minister Hussein Al-Aghbari engaged with Abubakr Baabid, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Vice President of the General Union of Yemeni Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The discussion focused on the critical role of the private sector in fostering local development and achieving lasting peace.

Government’s Commitment to Economic Growth

During the meeting, which included members of the Businessmen’s Committee, Minister Al-Aghbari emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the private sector. He described it as a cornerstone of both economic and social development. The minister reiterated that collaboration between the government and private entities is essential for progress.

Investment Opportunities and Challenges

The discussion addressed several key topics, including strategies to attract local investment in Aden and other liberated provinces. Participants explored solutions to the challenges faced by business leaders, particularly regarding the payment of legal dues such as zakat and taxes. These discussions aimed to align with local authority laws and regulations, fostering sustainable and inclusive economic development.
